Personal information submitted to us via this website or directly via email will be used for the purposes specified in this privacy statement or in relevant parts of the website.

  • as necessary for the performance of tasks carried out in the public interest, in this case the disbursement of funds to a variety of charitable organisations who meet Didymus’ charitable objects;
  • as necessary in the pursuit of the legitimate interests of the charity, in this case, to acquire the information necessary to process grant applications, and to enable us to ensure our website is accessible and easy to navigate. This also includes carrying out surveys and conducting evaluation to ensure our grantmaking is making its intended impact, and to see how we can improve.
  • for compliance with legal obligations, in this case to provide full and accurate information to the Charity Commission.

Although we do not specifically collect special category data, information regarding the racial or ethnic origin of senior employees and / or trustees may be provided by the applicant. When you submit the application form you provide your explicit consent for our processing of this data. 

 

When do we share personal data?

We may disclose information about you to any of our employees, Trustees, officers, agents, suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes as set out in this privacy statement. We currently reserve the right to pass information provided to us by applicants to other Trusts and Foundations.

In addition, we may disclose your personal information:

  • to the extent that we are required to do so by law;
  • in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;
  • in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk); and

Where do we store and process personal data?

We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.

Didymus will store all the personal data you provide on its secure cloud based services including Salesforce, Form Assembly, Google Mail, and website hosted on WordPress and an additional back up on a hard drive.

Cross-border data transfers

Information that Didymus collects may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in the EU in accordance with this privacy statement. In addition, personal information that you submit for publication on the website will be published on the internet and may be available around the world.

 

How long do we keep your personal data for?

Didymus reserves the right to hold data related to grant applications for archive purposes and in order to facilitate a high standard of due diligence which will enable the charity to continue to fulfill its charitable objects.

 

Your rights in relation to personal data

You may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you. Provision of such information will be subject to:

  • the supply of appropriate evidence of your identity.
  • If you have concerns about how we use your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
